Anticipation is high for the CEV EuroVolley 2026 Women`s Drawing of Lots, scheduled for this Saturday at 20:45 CEST at the Castello Normanno-Svevo in Bari. This event officially launches the preparations for Europe`s premier volleyball competition, as teams and fans eagerly await the formation of the preliminary pools that will set the stage for the tournament.
The 2026 championship promises a unique atmosphere, hosted across four nations: Türkiye, Czechia, Azerbaijan, and Sweden. Each country will contribute its distinct flair to this top-tier European event. With Istanbul poised to host the final rounds, the journey to European glory will weave through Brno, Baku, and Gothenburg, as the continent`s finest teams vie for progression and a coveted spot in the medal matches.
Twenty-four national teams have secured their place, including the four host nations and the formidable reigning world and Olympic champions, Italy. Other volleyball powerhouses such as Poland, France, Serbia, and the Netherlands join an elite roster, alongside Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany, Belgium, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Austria, Portugal, Montenegro, and Latvia.
Every team approaches the draw with the goal of securing a favorable pool, strategically mapping their path towards the climactic final stages in Istanbul. This marks the third time Türkiye will host the final round in 23 years, following previous medal match events in Ankara in 2003 and 2019. The live-streamed draw, available on the European Volleyball YouTube channel, will involve hosts selecting an accompanying team for their pools before the remaining teams are distributed.

La emoción crece ante el sorteo del CEV EuroVolley Femenino 2026, que tendrá lugar este sábado a las 20:45 CEST en el Castello Normanno-Svevo de Bari. Este evento marca el inicio oficial de los preparativos para el principal torneo de voleibol de Europa, con equipos y aficionados expectantes por la configuración de los grupos preliminares que definirán la narrativa de la competición.
La edición de 2026 promete una atmósfera extraordinaria, ya que se desarrollará en cuatro países: Turquía, República Checa, Azerbaiyán y Suecia, cada uno aportando su particular encanto a este evento de élite europeo. Con Estambul como sede de la fase final, el camino hacia la gloria europea pasará por Brno, Bakú y Gotemburgo, donde los mejores equipos del continente lucharán por avanzar y asegurar un lugar en los partidos por las medallas.
Un total de veinticuatro selecciones nacionales se han clasificado, destacando las cuatro anfitrionas, así como la poderosa Italia, actual campeona mundial y olímpica. Cada equipo afrontará el sorteo con la determinación de obtener un grupo favorable y trazar su ruta hacia las etapas finales en Estambul. Esta será la tercera vez que Turquía acoja la ronda final en los últimos 23 años, después de que Ankara fuera escenario de los partidos por las medallas en 2003 y 2019. El sorteo, que se transmitirá en vivo por el canal de YouTube de Voleibol Europeo, verá a las anfitrionas seleccionar un equipo acompañante para sus grupos antes de que el resto de las selecciones sean distribuidas.
