The 2024 Slovenian National Snow Volleyball Championships recently concluded at the Krvavec Ski Resort, showcasing thrilling competitions. In the men`s division, the formidable trio of Tadej Boženk, Danijel Pokeršnik, and Denis Robida successfully defended their title, this year joined by Matej Rapnik. The women`s championship saw a new set of victors, with Špela Marušič, Polona Marušič, and Anja Mazej claiming their inaugural gold medal.
The fourth national championships, a joint effort by the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) and RTC Krvavec, attracted unprecedented interest. A record 27 teams participated, competing across four dedicated courts on the snowy landscape.
The men`s final was a closely contested match. The defending champions—Boženk, Pokeršnik, Robida, and Rapnik (who stepped in for Alan Košenina this season)—faced off against the spirited young team of Klemen Mohar, Urban-Urh Jakše, and Benjamin Gašpar. After an intense three-set battle, the more experienced side emerged victorious with a 2-1 score (15-12, 16-18, 15-12).

Urban-Urh Jakše, a silver medalist, commented on their performance: “The competition was very strong, and our strategy was based on our determination. We fought for every ball as if it was the last one, and that is how we managed to reach the final where we, unfortunately, lost due to a few minor mistakes.”
The bronze medal in the men`s event went to the youngest team in the championship: Miha Kosanec, Lan Juvan, and Benjamin Mugerli. They delivered impressive performances, triumphing over the more seasoned team of Gregor Felkar, Jernej Borlinić, and Nejc Berčič with scores of 15-13 and 15-9 in the third-place play-off.
Women`s Competition Highlights
In the women`s competition, Špela Marušič, Polona Marušič, and debutante Anja Mazej secured the gold.

Last year’s champions, Sara Valenčič, Anastazija Žnidar, and Teja Kolbl, finished in second place, losing the final 8-15 and 9-15. Valenčič gracefully remarked: “Congratulations to the winners. The teams are much stronger than last year, and the quality is improving every year, which is excellent. We will move on, and next year there will be another opportunity, and we will be aiming for gold again. A medal is a medal, and we are happy with the second place.”
The women`s bronze medal match saw Maša Margon, Maša Knific, and Ana Marija Grabec defeat Eva Pavlič, Kaja Gimpelj, and Anja Mitrovič by 15-8 and 15-9.
Future Outlook
The Volleyball Federation of Slovenia praised their continued partnership with RTC Krvavec, which has now hosted the national championships for the third consecutive year. Janez Janša, director of RTC Krvavec, enthusiastically confirmed the intention to bring high-level matches back to Krvavec Beach next year:

El Campeonato Nacional Esloveno de Voleibol Nieve de 2024 concluyó recientemente en la estación de esquí de Krvavec, ofreciendo emocionantes competiciones. En la categoría masculina, el formidable trío de Tadej Boženk, Danijel Pokeršnik y Denis Robida defendió con éxito su título, uniéndose a ellos este año Matej Rapnik. La cuarta edición de los campeonatos nacionales, un esfuerzo conjunto de la Federación Eslovena de Voleibol (OZS) y RTC Krvavec, atrajo un interés sin precedentes. Un récord de 27 equipos participaron, compitiendo en cuatro canchas dedicadas en el paisaje nevado.
La final masculina fue un partido muy reñido. Urban-Urh Jakše, medallista de plata, comentó sobre su actuación: “La competición fue muy fuerte y nuestra estrategia se basó en nuestra determinación. Luchamos por cada balón como si fuera el último, y así logramos llegar a la final donde, lamentablemente, perdimos por algunos pequeños errores.”
La medalla de bronce en el evento masculino fue para el equipo más joven del campeonato: Miha Kosanec, Lan Juvan y Benjamin Mugerli. Ofrecieron actuaciones impresionantes, triunfando sobre el equipo más experimentado de Gregor Felkar, Jernej Borlinić y Nejc Berčič con puntuaciones de 15-13 y 15-9 en el partido por el tercer puesto.
